First Commemorative Coin in the denomination of 5 Paise were issued in 1976 and the Theme was Food And Work For All. Now let's have a look about the details of this coin.

Ashoka Lion Capital With Lettering "भारत" & INDIA appearing at either side on upper half section of the coin. Whereas, a big Numeric 5 just below the Ashoka Lion Capital With Lettering "पैसे & PAISE" at either side in the lower half section of the coin.

Reverse Description : 

Semi Circular Lettering "सबके लिए अनाज और काम" in Hindi and "FOOD & WORK FOR ALL" In English at either sides of the coin. Whereas In the center A Figure of Tractor Utility Pole And Buildings in the background. At the bottom of it Year of Mintage with Mint Marks written.

Further, In the Year 1977 once again another commemorative coin in the same denomination of 5 paise was issued and the theme was SAVE FOR DEVELOPMENT.  Obverse of this coin was almost similar to the coin of 1976 i.e. Food And Work For All. Only reverse was completely changed depicting the theme of the coin.

Ashoka Lion Capital With Lettering "भारत" & INDIA appearing at either side on upper half section of the coin. Whereas, a big Numeric 5 just below the Ashoka Lion Capital With Lettering "पैसे & PAISE" at either side in the lower half section of the coin.

Reverse Description : 

Semi Circular Lettering "विकास के लिए बचाइए" in Hindi on the upper half section of the coin and "SAVE FOR DEVELOPMENT" In English on the lower half section of the coin. Whereas In the center there was a collage of various symbols depicting development. A hand putting savings in a savings box, A piece of cereal ear symbolizing food, a HUT symbolizing shelter, a triangle symbolizing family planning, a book symbolizing knowledge, a cross symbolizing Health and Medical facilities, and a wheel with gear symbolizing Industry and Growth. And, just below the symbols year of mintage with mint marks.

Again in the year 1978 another coin in this series of 5 Paise Commemotative Coins was issued with a theme FOOD & SHELTER FOR ALL. Once again, the Obverse of this coin was almost same as the previous issues of the commemorative coins of this denomination. Nevertheless, all details of the coin is mentioned below.

Semi Circular Lettering "सबके लिए अनाज और मकान" in Hindi on the upper half section of the coin and "FOOD & SHELTER FOR ALL" In English on the lower half section of the coin. Whereas In the center there was a symbolic presentation of food with a sprig of grain and a HUT symbolizing shelter in a circle. And, just on the upper section of the circle Year of Mintage with Mint Marks were embossed.

The last coin in this series of 5 Paise Commemorative coins were issued in 1979 and the theme was HAPPY CHILD NATION'S PRIDE. In fact year 1979 was observed as INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE CHILD and thus, this coin was issued to celebrate and commemorate the occasion. Pattern of the obverse of this coin was though same as of early issues of 5 paise commemorative coins but, there was difference in Ashoka Lion which was a bigger and thicker (fat) than earlier and the Numeric "5" was also in a new style i.e. smaller yet thicker than the previous issues. Whereas In the center there was an Emblem featuring a slate which depicted education enclosed in a circle. On the top of the slate there was featuring a "SUN" symbolizing enlightenment of wisdom and good health and just below of it featuring "A Boy & A Girl" and the entire design was surrounded by sprigs. And, just below of this emblem, year of mintage with mint marks were embossed.

Now, all coins of this series are demonetized and out of circulation. But, still they carry a great wanting and likes for all those who are keen to save and collect coins or those who want to preserve their heritage. All these four types of 5 Paise Commemorative Coins are primarily collected by all coin lovers. However, some mule coins in this category were also found.
